It is with great excitement that we present Savannah Hines as the November 2017 Student of the Month! Savannah brings such infectious joy and a contagious smile to our Berean Christian Community! She has invested herself in all areas of Berean Christian including 2 years in Student Government, Choir for all 4 years, and Cheerleading during her freshman year. Savannah is known for her upbeat and positive attitude and enthusiasm, so much so that some call her a "human sparkler" 😊! Her greatest identity comes from loving the Lord. Savannah blesses and brightens our campus everyday with her kindness and encouragement. Congratulations Savannah!

We are pleased to announce our upcoming event on campus that will feature a visit from Animal Rescue Foundation's Hug Pack Team. The team of hug pack animals and their owners will be visiting our students on campus during lunch on Tuesday, November 14th, in the courtyard area (quad) of our campus.
If students are interested in visiting with the pets during their lunch hour, the Hug Pack animals and their owners are ready! We are scheduled to have nine teams visit!
Interaction with the Hug Pack animals is sure to bring a smile to our students as they will have an opportunity to play with and pet the animals. All of the animals are certified therapy dogs that are known for their friendly temperament. Any students with specific concerns or animal allergies are encouraged to avoid the quad area during the visit.

BCHS Opportunities:
Donation Opportunity
The Community Service Committee is proud to announce that Berean will be holding its first ever sports equipment drive. The Drive will take place from November 6th- November 17th. We will set up a donation box at school in the student center where students can bring in sports equipment that will be donated to a local elementary school in Sonoma or Napa County that have been affected by the recent fires. For every item you bring, you will receive one ticket towards a raffle drawing. The winner will receive a free large pizza from Round Table. Please make sure to write your first and last name on the items that you donate so that your name will be placed in the raffle appropriately. We would like to thank you in advance for your participation in this event!
Things to Donate:
Footballs, baseballs, kick balls, dodgeballs, basketballs, and volleyballs
Flags used for flag football
Small cones used for athletics
Small portable soccer goals
Spike ball kit
Baseball gloves
New Whistles
Speed Ladder
Fundraiser Opportunity
See's Candy- The biggest fundraiser of the year started on Wednesday, November 1st! This is an all-school MANDATORY fundraiser and we need every student to participate! Students are being asked to sell a minimum of eight items. If you prefer not to sell, you can choose the $25 buy out option. This fundraiser goes directly toward making student events affordable. For example, did you know that while the cost of JSB tickets is typically $90, the value is usually over $150.00! How can we do that? With your help! All money raised goes directly towards keeping event costs low, funding the class funds, and community service projects that benefit our community.
Top Three sellers for freshman/sophomores group and top three sellers for junior/seniors group will win Visa gift card Prizes! See your sales information for details!
Mexico Mission Trip
I am so happy to announce that a portion of the Senior class will be given an opportunity to serve in Mexico this year! This trip began last year with a small, but mighty group. It was a cherished time where we were able to serve others, grow closer to each other, and see God work in so many inspiring ways.
Briefly, we would like to inform you of some quick details about the trip before additional information is given:
• Dates: Thursday, January 11, through Monday, January 15
(Due to Monday being Martin Luther King Junior Day, only 2 days of school will be missed)
• Main Chaperones: Casey Allen (who will also be coordinating a great amount of the trip), & Mr. and Mrs. Filibert (who attended last year)
• Cost: $550 (includes all transportation fees, food, service project materials, housing…)
*Subject to slight change due to cost changes from Open Arms
• Destination: Open Arms Daycare, La Mision, Baja California, Mexico
In order to be further educated on the organization we will mainly be working with during the trip, here is the introductory article from their website - www.openarmsmexico.org
Please let us know, as soon as possible (in a response email to DJ Allen), if you are interested, as space is limited.
We know this is a great amount to think about, but we hope you will prayerfully consider joining us for a great trip.
In Him,
DJ Allen
